The BBC has unveiled a first-look teaser photo of Michael Sheen on the set of his latest venture, a retooled version of House Of Games. Earlier this year, it was announced that the Welsh actor would be taking over at the helm of House Of Games from Richard Osman, after almost a decade as its host. Ahead of the show’s return later this month – with Richard set to host a week’s worth of shows before handing over the reins to Michael – a new set photo has been released by the BBC. This picture also confirms what had previously been confirmed to be the case by Richard – that House Of Games’ branding would be given a makeover when its new host comes aboard. Michael Sheen on the set of House Of Games In a statement, Michael quipped that he had “quite literally very large shoes to fill”. He enthused: “As a huge fan of the show, I’m incredibly excited to be able to move into the House and at long last see my silhouette on a fondue set.” Michael Sheen on the set of House Of Games Richard Osman with his House Of Games successor Michael Sheen Explaining his decision to step away from his hit gameshow, Richard said earlier this year: “Thank you for all your kind words as I step down from House Of Games after nine amazing years. It is honestly the most fun show to work on, with the most wonderful team, but, after 800 episodes it’s time to hand over the keys to a new host.” He added: “There are plenty of new episodes still to air though, and I’ll even be filming one final handover week later in the year! It really has been a treat from start to finish.” In addition to his new gig as the presenter of what will now be known as Michael Sheen’s House Of Games, the Bafta nominee is also set to make an appearance on The Celebrity Traitors when the show returns to our screens next month.
