These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the 1News website (https://1news.me) and mobile apps (the "Service"), operated by 1000178307 Ontario Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
1News is a news aggregator that surfaces headlines, short excerpts, AI summaries and automatic briefings, and images from publishers' public RSS feeds across many countries and languages, and links to the original articles. The Service is provided free of charge.
2. Third-party content
Articles, headlines, and images belong to their respective publishers. 1News shows only a headline and a short excerpt, credits the publisher, and links to the original article; it does not claim ownership of third-party content. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of content originating from third parties.
Publishers: if you would like your feed removed from 1News, or a specific headline, excerpt, or image taken down, email jishangiras@gmail.com with the feed or article URL. We action removal requests within 48 hours.
3. AI summaries and briefings
Summaries labelled "AI Summary" are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude, running on Google Cloud) from the headlines and short excerpts shown on 1News. Summaries labelled "Briefing" are assembled automatically from the same material without AI. Both are provided for convenience only, may contain errors or omissions, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for the original reporting. Always consult the source article for the full and authoritative version.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it through unauthorized means, scrape it at scale, or use it in violation of any applicable law.
5. Donations
Support contributions are voluntary and processed by Stripe. Unless required by law, donations are non-refundable. Donating does not create any subscription, account, or entitlement to features.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 1News and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
8. Changes
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
