Britney Spears at a Grammys event in 2017 Britney Spears has spoken out about a series of photos that were published last week, depicting her standing up through the sunroof of a moving car on a motorway in California. Page Six and the Daily Mail both published pictures of the incident, with the latter claiming she was standing up for around two minutes in the vehicle. Over the weekend, the Piece Of Me singer addressed the reports in an Instagram post which the Mail claimed originally read: “Unfortunately what people didn’t see is what my reality used to look like…” The post now reads: “What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords !!!!! Yet the days and hours of my reality!!!!!! Nothing is what it seems.” She added: “Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more.” HuffPost UK has contacted Britney Spears’ team for comment. It’s been a turbulent few months for the chart-topping singer, who, in 2021, was freed from a legal conservatorship she’d been placed under 13 years prior. Back in March, the Grammy winner was pulled over by the police and arrested while out driving near her home in California. She subsequently checked herself into a rehab treatment facility, after which it was announced that Britney had been charged with a misdemeanour of driving while under the influence. This DUI charge was then “dismissed” at a legal hearing – where Britney was not present – after she pleaded guilty to reckless driving. More recently, it was claimed that Britney’s behaviour at a California restaurant had proved alarming to some of her fellow diners, with reports suggesting she’d raised her voice, barked like a dog, smoked a cigarette and walked through the restaurant holding a knife during the meal. The star’s spokesperson later insisted that she’d simply been “enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard”, clarifying that she “was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbours”. “At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half,” they continued. “This constant attack on everything that she does and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous and it needs to stop now.” READ MORE: Britney Spears' Team Slams 'Ridiculous' Reports About Restaurant Knife Incident Britney Spears' Lawyer Speaks Out After Star Pleads Guilty To Reckless Driving Britney Spears Posts Fiery Response To Ex-Husband Kevin Federline's Allegations About Her
