(Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images) | Getty Images Anthony Joshua returned to the boxing ring for the first time since his near-fatal car accident late last year as the former world heavyweight champion decimated Kristian Prenga via second-round knockout earlier tonight (Sat., July 25, 2026) LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Jeddah Superdome in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Joshua, who turns 37 later this year, was last seen breaking Jake Paul’s jaw back in Dec. 2025. The former heavyweight king has been looking to get back into the ring against real professional competition and Saturday’s main event was a perfect tune-up fight for Joshua. After all, Joshua is hoping to line up a long-awaited showdown will fellow English superstar Tyson Fury — who won his boxing match on Friday — later this year. To much surprise, Prenga stunned the former heavyweight champion with a few huge knockdowns in Round 1. Joshua appeared to be out of sorts, but he eventually got his wits about him and recovered. Good thing he did because Prenga left himself open in the second round for Joshua to land a huge right hand that sent the Albanian fighter through the ropes.
