Jeff Goldblum Saturday Night Live UK is planning to hit the ground running when it returns to our screens later this month. On Thursday morning, it was revealed that Oscar nominee Jeff Goldblum will be the first celebrity guest host of the new series, with his episode set to air live on Sky and Now on Saturday 12 September. He’ll be joined in the studio by Irish singer-songwriter and Mercury Prize nominee CMAT, delivering two live performances during the episode. CMAT on stage at Coachella earlier this year Despite some initial scepticism in the press, SNL UK debuted to positive reviews and encouraging viewing figures earlier this year, with its original six-episode run being extended to a total of eight before it had even begun airing. SNL UK was later confirmed to have been commissioned for a second run, consisting of a further-boosted 12 episodes in total. The first three of these will air on consecutive weeks in September, returning for another three after a week off in early October. Bosses have also confirmed that the final six episodes will then air in early 2027, although an exact date is yet to be specified. All 11 members of the original SNL UK cast will be returning for season two, including Al Nash, Annabel Marlow, Ayoade Bamgboye, Celeste Dring, Emma Sidi, George Fouracres, Hammed Animashaun, Jack Shep and Larry Dean, while Ania Magliano and Paddy Young will be returning to the British Weekend Update desk. The guest hosts for season one were Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed, Jack Whitehall, Nicola Coughlan, Aimee Lou Wood and Hannah Waddingham, with former Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa fronting the live season finale. Last week, it secured the Best Comedy prize at the Edinburgh TV Festival Awards, and was also long-listed in the Best Comedy category at the upcoming National Television Awards. SNL UK airs on Saturday nights (obviously) on Sky and Now at 10pm.
