Tim Curry at the premiere of The Wild Thornberrys film in 2002 A spokesperson for Tim Curry has disclosed that the actor died as a result of coronary artery disease. The British performer died at his home in Los Angeles last week, at the age of 80. Following this, his rep confirmed that Tim’s heart condition had been the main cause of death listed on a death certificate filed in Los Angeles County to BBC News. Years earlier, in 2012, he suffered a debilitating stroke, and also had a history of kidney cancer, both of which were listed as contributing factors to his death. Tim began his acting career in the late 1960s, first appearing in the stage musical Hair, before landing the part of Frank-N-Furter in the original theatrical production of The Rocky Horror Show, which was later adapted for the screen in the 1970s, becoming a cult classic.
