Israel’s Eurovision representative Noam Bettan pictured in May 2026 The Dutch broadcaster Avrotros has confirmed that The Netherlands will not be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest next year. The Netherlands was one of five countries to withdraw from Eurovision ahead of this year’s contest in solidarity with Palestine, after it was confirmed that Israel would be returning in 2026. On Monday morning, an Avrotros rep confirmed that the broadcaster would be following suit at next year’s event. “AVROTROS will not participate [in 2027] because the event can no longer be considered neutral, with a participating country still involved in a large-scale military conflict,” a spokesperson said in a statement (written in Dutch and translated to English by the Eurovision fansite ESCDiscord).
