The look had some traditional elements, like a cropped jacket, a bow tie, and a cummerbund. However, he paired it with silky pants that ballooned around him. The pants, unfortunately, overshadowed the rest of the look, making the whole outfit feel imbalanced. Slimmer-fitting pants would have been a better choice for Urie, who was nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for "Shrinking." The dress felt too heavy because of both the dark color and the plethora of fabric. A lighter color or no sleeves could have improved the look. Riz Ahmed's suit was too oversized. Although there were many oversized suits at the event, Ahmed's didn't quite work because it had no shape. It seemed to float around him, and his pants were too long.
