Pakistan secured approximately twenty-seven billion dollars in foreign funding last fiscal year. Saudi Arabia and China provided significant rollover support for existing loans. Fresh borrowing accounted for sixteen billion dollars of the total inflows. This foreign assistance primarily financed the budget and repaid external debt. Pakistan's exports declined by six percent during the same period.
