Joe Locke and Kit Connor as Charlie and Nick in Heartstopper Forever Any actor will tell you that the reality of shooting a sex scene is certainly a lot less romantic than what’s conveyed on screen. However, for Heartstopper star Kit Connor, not all of the awkwardness while shooting intimate scenes in the Netflix series’ new film stemmed from what was going on around him. During a new interview with British Vogue, he and his co-star Joe Locke were asked for the “most embarrassing thing that happened while filming Heartstopper”, and Kit had an immediate response. “I farted in a sex scene,” he shared, to which Joe confirmed: “Yeah. He did.” When Joe assured him that he “didn’t think that was that embarrassing”, Kit then pointed out: “You didn’t, but you know me quite well. I did that in front of a lot of people. You know, crew members and stuff…” View this post on Instagram Kit and Joe can now be seen in action for the final time as their break-out roles Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring in Heartstopper Forever, the feature-length finale to the beloved teen drama. Season three, released in 2024, saw Nick and Charlie having sex for the first time, with the new movie continuing to explore this side to the characters. During a recent interview with The Guardian, Joe claimed: “It would be weird if we hadn’t [included sex scenes]. Just because our show is a more earnest version of a queer representation doesn’t mean that sex [shouldn’t be shown]. It’s still a big thing for anyone in the world.” They also spoke candidly about the awkwardness that can often accompany the shooting of these scenes, with Kit noting that they take place in “a silent room with lots of middle-aged men”, and Joe adding that there is a “camera right next to your face while you’re wearing a cock sock”. Reviews for Heartstopper Forever have been mostly positive, although some critics lamented that the film focussed solely on the central couple at the expense of some supporting characters. HuffPost UK’s review said: “For those who’ve followed Nick and Charlie’s journey these past few years, the movie feels like a fitting farewell to the characters we’ve grown to know and love.” Heartstopper Forever is now streaming on Netflix.
