The Union Cabinet is expected to approve two major elevated road projects in Varanasi. These projects, the Ganga and Varuna Corridors, will cost nearly twenty-five thousand crore rupees. The Ganga Elevated Corridor will be a forty-six-kilometer highway along the riverfront. The Varuna Corridor will be a forty-three-kilometer elevated link connecting two national highways. These initiatives aim to significantly ease traffic congestion and boost tourism in the holy city.
