Former WWE champion Jake Hager returned to Power Slap earlier this month in Las Vegas and got slapped unconscious by opponent Amanpreet Singh. Hager, who also competed for Bellator and AEW wrestling, claims he made a “rookie mistake” after a strong debut for the promotion last April. “I was winning the fight in the first two rounds and honestly after watching it back, I realized that I rushed to the box to make him rush,” Hager told fellow WWE veteran David Otunga. “I rushed setting up my defense, setting up my chin in the proper way and then I was late to brace. Bracing is a really important part of your defensive strategy, so it was a rookie mistake but lesson learned. Done in front of a big crowd so it stings a little bit. But you know me, you can’t keep me down. I don’t listen to the internet and I just keep going. The silver lining is that I have no injuries and I get more views when I get knocked out, so maybe I’ll do it again!” By the end of the month more than a BILLION people will have watched it.
