In fact, “Venom” failed to register a single stoppage in six trips to the Octagon, despite a successful Bellator career that spawned some of the nastiest knockouts in the history of MMA. Like this skull-crushing finish. Not surprisingly, the promotion hastily yanked Page from rankings eligibility now that he’s a free agent. Remember, “Venom” is still able to re-sign with UFC if both parties can come to terms on a new deal, something that may interest Dana White and Co. if it means keeping Page from MVP MMA or Scott Coker 3.0. Until then, he’s persona non grata — at least when it comes to the UFC rankings. Stepping in the cage is a privilege I do not take for granted and I look forward to bigger challenges.” Where those challenges take place remains to be seen.
