Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced today (Thurs., July 16, 2026) that it will promote the first boxing event to stream live on the social media platform TikTok, with women’s Featherweight champion Amanda Serrano defending her titles against Argentine boxer Lucrecia Manzur on Fri., Aug. 21, 2026, inside Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, Calif. Yes, a world championship boxing event will stream on TikTok. What a time. The bout will be contested over 12 two-minute rounds for the unified WBA and WBO women’s Featherweight titles. It will also be the first unified women’s world championship fight scheduled for 12 two-minute rounds, adding another layer of history to an already strange-but-interesting experiment. Welcome to the MVP x TikTok Era 🤯 The first-ever championship boxing event on TikTok LIVE.📲🏆 Amanda Serrano is one knockout away from making history. August 21. Serrano is currently riding a two-fight win streak since dropping back-to-back fights to boxing legend Katie Taylor, including their historic trilogy, which headlined the first all-women’s boxing card inside Madison Square Garden. Now, Serrano will go from Madison Square Garden history to TikTok history. That sentence is ridiculous, but here we are. Meanwhile, Manzur (14-4) enters the matchup on a five-fight win streak and is coming off a defense of her WBO Latino Featherweight title against Nair Aymara Erlin. For Serrano, the platform might be unusual, but the mission is still the same: grow women’s boxing, defend her belts and chase history. “I’ve dedicated my career to creating opportunities for women’s boxing and bringing our sport to the biggest stages possible, so to headline the first championship boxing event on TikTok is incredibly meaningful,” Serrano said in a press release. “Women’s boxing deserves to be seen by as many people around the world as possible, and this partnership gives us the chance to introduce our sport to a massive global audience in a completely new way.” “I’m also proud that Lucrecia and I will be making history in the first unified women’s world championship contested over 12 two-minute rounds,” Serrano continued. “Every time I step into the ring, I’m fighting for Puerto Rico, and I have the opportunity to make history for my island, break the all-time women’s knockout record, and defend my world titles. This will be a night to remember for Temecula and boxing fans around the world.” It is easy to make fun of boxing on TikTok because, well, it is boxing on TikTok. But if Serrano breaks the all-time women’s knockout record while defending her world titles in front of a massive social media audience, MVP may end up looking pretty smart. Still, get ready for live punches, title belts and a comment section that is almost certainly going to be unhinged. For more boxing news and notes click here.
