New custom shorts have arrived. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight champion Joshua Van defends his title for the second time against former 125-pound kingpin Alexandre Pantoja in the main event of UFC 331 this weekend (Sat., Sept. 19, 2026) inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. It took only one successful title defense, but Van has officially joined UFC’s growing custom-shorts club. And his new fight kit came out looking pretty cool. Check it out below: According to the press release, Van drew inspiration from his heritage by incorporating the colors of Myanmar’s flag, patterns inspired by traditional fabrics and the Myanmar hornbill with its wings outstretched — a powerful symbol of his roots. Van also included two of his favorite Bible verses in the design: Romans 8:31: “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Van isn’t the only UFC 331 fighter receiving a wardrobe upgrade. Top Lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan, who battles Mauricio Ruffy in the evening’s co-main event, also finally received his own custom fight shorts. Check them out below: Tsarukyan drew inspiration from the “darker and more intimidating elements associated with his persona,” channeling that energy through a black-and-gray color scheme and sharp, imposing graphics. Mount Ararat and the Russian bear complete the design, serving as powerful symbols of his heritage. Van and Tsarukyan join an elite group of fighters with custom fight shorts, including Jon Jones, Ilia Topuria, Max Holloway, Merab Dvalishvili, Alexander Volkanovski, Alex Pereira, Paddy Pimblett, Julianna Pena, Alexandre Pantoja, and Khalil Rountree, among a few special others.
