Zoox, an Amazon-owned autonomous vehicle company, on Thursday received NHTSA's clearance to begin initial deployment of its steering-wheel-free robotaxis in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The approval allows the company to start charging for rides, subject to state and local approvals.
