The Hong Kong Jockey Club said it was delaying the opening of its brand new venue in mainland China, as it reported record results at its AGM on Wednesday. The club told members wagering and lottery turnover had reached HK$331.7 billion – up 3.6 per cent from the past financial year, despite “a very difficult environment, including the ever-expanding threat of illegal gambling”.
