The Dallas Cowboys earned one of Week 2’s most convincing victories with a 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders. The Cowboys’ passing game returned to form after a disappointing showing in a Week 1 loss to the New York Giants, with Dak Prescott passing for 279 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions in the win. Meanwhile, the Commanders are just hoping Jayden Daniels’ scary elbow injury doesn’t keep him out for an extended period. The Cowboys created plenty of fireworks with the victory, but unfortunately that also included some friendly fire. Dallas defensive back Cobie Durant was taken out of the game with what the team called a “hamstring injury” when he was stepped on by safety Markquese Bell. Bell stomped on Durant as he laid face-first on the ground, but he didn’t exactly hit him in the hamstring — it was more in the private parts region. Watching Durant’s injury may cause a visceral reaction for the viewer. I know that’s what happened to me. Watch the incredibly unfortunate video of Durant getting trampled by his teammate here: Cobie Durant Took Some Friendly Fire And Got Stepped On Right In The Butt. 😭 That One Definitely Had To Hurt. pic.twitter.com/XKSaDL2ruo — SM Highlights (@SMHighlights1) September 20, 2026 Ouch. I could almost feel his pain just watching that video. The Cowboys might have officially called it a hamstring, but we all saw the same thing, and that’s no hamstring. Durant is an important player for Dallas as the starting cornerback opposite DaRon Bland. He was replaced by Shavon Revel. The Cowboys’ defense looked solid against the Commanders, but they have a bigger test coming in Week 3 against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Let’s hope Durant can get back on the field. This injury looks painful enough even before we get to the idea of missing future games.
