ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - OCTOBER 21: Khamzat Chimaev of the United Arab Emirates reacts after a unanimous-decision victory against Kamaru Usman of Nigeria in a middleweight fight during the UFC 294 event at Etihad Arena on October 21, 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images) | Zuffa LLC via Getty Images Looks like UFC 327 wasn’t an isolated incident. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is two weeks away from its upcoming UFC 328 event, scheduled for Sat., May 9, 2026 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The “Chimaev vs. Strickland” fight card (see it here) will be topped by the middleweight title fight pitting current 185-pound champion Khamzat Chimaev against ex-division titleholder Sean Strickland. Doesn’t sound like fans are landing on “The Rock.” The ticket sales for UFC 328 at the Prudential Center (Sean Strickland vs. Khamzat Chimaev) appear to be rather sluggish. The event is only a couple of weeks away… — Fight Opinion (@FightOpinion) April 24, 2026 Here’s a recent screenshot from Ticketmaster: The cheapest seat in the worst section is $386. UFC 328 will also feature flyweight champion Joshua Van defending his title against top contender Tatsuro Taira. Elsewhere on the card, Alexander Volkov and Waldo Cortes-Acosta hook ‘em up in heavyweight action. In addition, Sean Brady locks horns with Joaquin Buckley to stay alive in the 170-pound title chase. Are those matchups enough to command several hundred dollars in today’s economy? Not according to these troubling figures.
